Tales Of The Uncanny, feat. Owen Pallett, Do Make Say Think, Robert Lippok (Free Show)

LUMINATO.COM - After 90 years, Canada finally gets its chance to see one of the seminal masterworks of cinematic horror - with cutting-edge accompaniment by Robert Lippok, Owen Pallett and Do Make Say Think.
One of the earliest of German horror films, Tales of the Uncanny (Unheimliche Geschichten) was first released in 1919. Now, in association with the North by Northeast Music and Film Festival and the Goethe-Institut Toronto, we bring this silent classic to Canada for the very first time.
Directed by Richard Oswald and starring Conrad Veidt in one of his earliest roles, Tales of the Uncanny (not to be confused with the same director’s 1932 remake) uses an antiquarian bookstore after dark as the framework for five distinct stories, among them Edgar Allan Poe’s The Black Cat. Berlin electronica artist Robert Lippok, Do Make Say Think and Owen Pallett(Final Fantasy) provide the live soundtrack for this historic screening - a must-see event for cinephiles, music buffs and horror fans alike.
