Artist Spotlight: Black Diamond Bay
Black Diamond Bay is one of those beautiful bands that make you feel immediately sentimental. Singer and primary songwriter Patrick Krief’s voice and lyrics are stunningly laid over intelligent and technical musical composition. They blend styles as broad as Patrick Watson, Jeff Buckley, Queens of the Stone Age and Muse; which is better than it might sound.
Remarkably the band is releasing just their first album Calm Await. What is remarkable is how rich in chemistry the band is and how detailed and exquisitely mastered the album sounds. The outcome is a recording you might expect from a largely funded act who have written music together for years.
Black Diamond Bay charmingly and humbly describe their pride for the album: “It’s warm, vulnerable and honest, and something we’ll hold close to our hearts forever. We hope to see you somewhere along the way as we plan on touring this album heavily.”
